When I saw the DES pot still for the first time, I reacted like many people do, I thought it was a spaceship and that it was difficult to use. However, through one conversation with the sales manager, everything became clear in my head and encouraged me. I went through all DES premium models and chose this one with three columns, at that moment I knew it was perfect for me.
It is a pot still with an aroma max column, a column with bubble plates and a column with copper filling. All three columns allow serious play and during distillation, it is possible to produce more types and recipes of alcoholic beverages, and it is the Aroma max column, what is most important to us, that preserves the best and greatest aroma from the fruit raw material, without obstruction.

The quality of gin is very important to us, and with our DES pot still we get exactly that. The taste, smell and quality of gin are the same from batch to batch, which is very important for us.
We decided on the DES equipment after seeing the product and being convinced of its quality. Also, the short production time and the good price contributed to our decision.
We produce gin. Depending on the recipe, we pour 80-100L of wash into the 120L pot still. The input percentage is 55-75%, and the output percentage is around 82-86%. Distillation lasts from 6 to 8 hours.

I'm very glad with both of DES stills and satisfied of the products quality. The first time alone is a bit impressive, but they are quite easy to run once you go for it! They are real smile machines. I choose DES because of its worldwide known experience in copper boiler making, but also for its excellent value for money.
I bought the 500 Aromamax for whisky, rum and big gin batches. I took the Performance Hobby 100 L for experiments, very small batches (gin with botanicals from my own garden production) and for spirits with very strong tastes such as absinthe or gentian root bitter. So far I been producing mostly botanical spirits: gin, absinthe, fruit flavored vodka, gentian root bitter, but also alcohol free gin like spirit. I will start rum and whisky in late summer.
Aromamax still results: from 500 L at 40 % ABV, I get more or less 5 L of heads above 90% 220 L of hearts at 75% and 60 L of tails at 40 %. The distillation run takes 8 hours. Yield is about 97%, and ratios are approximatively the same for the Hobby 100 L.

In daily use, the still is easy to use, easy to clean with the CIP and spirits distilled are goods. Quick shipping (even with the 3 months late). Cheap compared to the other European manufacturer. We distill gin, full still (500L). Starting ABV 30%, final ABV 72-75% (165L-170L). The distillation lasts 6h - 6h30min.

We are very happy, excellent still, easy use and perfect results. We distill Gin, with local plants from brittany, and we have starting beer still, and maybe this summer a little whisky. For the gin, we put 72 L / 80 ABV and 59/60 L and 89/90 ABV. For the beer, 120L 5 ABV, 14 L 40 ABV.

We are very satisfied with our copper still from DES. We chose this company because we thought the company and Sales managers sounded exciting and we wanted something different that no one else had at the time on the Nordic market.
We run mostly 96% in the base in our still, which is then diluted down to 30% before the redistillation. It takes us about 8 hours to run a 300L batch, but we run the still very slow & carefully and get a result of about 90% ABV.

We are very pleased with our pot still from DES. The price to quality ratio is unmatched.
We distill Gin in our pot still from DES, we put 200 litres of wash into the still, the final distillate is around 75% and the destillation lasts for around 3-4 hours.

I am very happy with my installation. We had some issues, but they were solved properly. We make jenever, gin, whisky distilled beer, rum and eau de vie. Normally when making whisky I do 4 runs of 500 liter wash abv about 10%. After 4 runs I have flegma of about 30%. With the tasterun I usually get 220 ltr at 67%. Great quantity to put in a barrel 😊

Yes we are very happy with the still, we decided to buy your still after some research and talk with a different people about the company.
We distil Rum, Gin and Vodka mostly from a base spirit with final ABV ranging from 62 – 76 abv and run time is around 5 hours.
